Roles & Responsibilities:

The Site Manager / Site In Charge is responsible for the complete execution, management, and administration of Electrical and C& I EPC project activities at the site. The role includes planning, coordination, installation supervision, testing and commissioning, quality and safety compliance, and ensuring delivery as per project specifications and timelines.
The position requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, C& I instruments, PLC/DCS systems, EPC processes, documentation, and customer coordination.Installation supervision for HT/LT panels, Power/distribution trafo, MV/LV capacitors, power/control cables, switchyard, electrical PDB's, & all electrical systems required in power distribution of plant.

Project Planning & Execution:

•Prepare a detailed site execution plan based on project drawings, engineering inputs, and EPC schedules.
•Plan and monitor daily/weekly/monthly activities for electrical, instrumentation, cabling, panel installation, and commissioning works.
•Ensure installation as per electrical standards (IEC/IS), C& I specifications, IO lists, cable schedules, loop drawings, and OEM guidelines.
•Coordinate with engineering, procurement, HO teams, OEMs, and subcontractors for uninterrupted execution.
•Resolve technical issues related to electrical distribution, control systems, instrumentation mounting, termination, and calibration.

Budget & Cost Control
•Ensure site execution activities are carried out within the approved budget.
•Minimize wastage of cables, materials, and consumables; optimize manpower usage.
•Identify opportunities for cost saving in installation and rework avoidance.
•Report and justify any cost variance with mitigation actions.

Customer Coordination
•Act as the single point of contact for the customer for all site related Electrical & C& I EPC matters.
•Organize and participate in site coordination meetings, technical discussions, and inspections.
•Address customer issues related to drawings, work sequence, quality, or commissioning requirements.

Communication & Reporting
•Prepare and submit:
•Daily Progress Reports (DPR)
•Weekly Progress Reports (WPR)
•Monthly Progress Reports (MPR)
•Material consumption & site inventory reports
•Maintain complete transparency with HO and project managers.
•Escalate site bottlenecks (technical/contractual) proactively.

Quality Management (QA/QC)
•Ensure all installations meet electrical and instrumentation quality standards.
•Conduct inspections for:
•Cable laying & dressing
•Earthing system installation
•Transformer/Panel installation
•Instrument mounting, impulse piping
•Cable termination, ferruling, loop checks
•Ensure compliance with QAP, FAT/SAT procedures, and EPC quality processes.
•Initiate corrective actions for any non conformities.

HSSE Compliance (Electrical & C& I Safety Focus)
•Enforce electrical and instrumentation safety practices including:
•LOTO (Lockout Tagout)
•PPE usage
•Permit-to-work system
•Safe cable pulling & energization practices
•Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
•Report and document all incidents, near misses, hazards, and ensure corrective measures.

Vendor & Contractor Management
•Manage electrical and C& I subcontractors to ensure adequate skilled manpower.
•Verify contractor billing based on actual work progress.
•Ensure timely delivery of panels, cables, instruments, junction boxes, PLCs, MCCs, and other EPC materials.
•Evaluate vendor performance and adherence to specifications.

Testing, Commissioning & Technical Coordination
•Lead end to end commissioning activities including:
•Continuity & megger testing
•Relay testing, breaker testing
•Panel energization
•Loop checking & cold/hot commissioning
•Instrument calibration and functional checks
•PLC/DCS logic testing & system integration
•Coordinate with OEMs, commissioning engineers, and control system specialists.
•Ensure completion of all commissioning dossiers and documentation.

Site Administration
•Oversee site office operations, guest house, logistics, transport, and material storage (warehouse).
•Maintain documentation: attendance, consumables, equipment logs, DPR/WPR, permits, and safety records.
•Ensure discipline and timely execution by all site personnel

• 6-12years of experience in Electrical & C& I EPC project execution.
  • Experience in industrial sectors (Power, Oil & Gas, Water, Cement, Manufacturing, Infrastructure) preferred
