In this role, you will:
Leading the improvement of the statistical modeling results globally across K-C segments, diving into data, optimizing digital experiences, and constantly developing better, faster ways to get results. In your Global Demand Modeling Lead role, you’ll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world.
The purpose of this high-performance role is to develop and maintain advanced forecasting models to support global planning teams. You will integrate statistical modeling, business intelligence, and close collaboration with the demand planning teams to ensure accurate statistical demand projections across K-C segments/BUs and product portfolios. Also, to provide data science/analytical solutions, define the modeling strategy, standards, and operating model, and be an agent for future growth of analytics-based solutions across the enterprise for demand modeling. This is an individual contributor role and while this role will have a primary ownership area (e.g. demand forecasting or first party data) it will have the opportunity to work on a breadth of business problems in Supply Chain. It is ideal for candidates who excel at operating in environments with imperfect data, and comfortable prioritizing progress over perfection by making reasonable business assumptions.
Lead and set the statistical models in the forecasting systems. Identification, framing, prototyping, development, continuous improvement, and socialization of cutting-edge Data models and approaches
Build and maintain statistical and machine learning-based demand forecasting models.
Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and external factors to predict future demand.
Develop models at multiple levels of aggregation (SKU, region, channel, etc.) across various time horizons.
Engage with K-C segments and Functions to identify potential advanced data modeling use cases in the area of ownership: lead ideation sessions, frame problem statements, define value propositions, propose modeling approaches, estimate effort and data requirements
Measuring forecast accuracy and bias of the statistical models and provide actionable insights to improve forecast reliability via better model selections in the system
Influence senior executives by prepare and present KPI dashboard like forecast value add etc
Own and prioritize backlog of advanced data modeling use cases gathered across K-C Global, with a focus on complex and high value business problems
Build Proof-of-Concept data science model development for segments: acquire, cleanse, and harmonize data, analyze and identify appropriate algorithms, build models that are interpretable, explainable and sustainable at scale and meets the business needs
Influence, adopt & socialize Data Science approaches across K-C segments through robust and innovative visualizations, interactive dashboards designed for non-technical audiences
Interpret model outputs, draw strategic and actionable insights, present findings and make recommendations to cross-functional and senior leadership teams
Manage demand planning tools and systems (e.g…Kinaxis etc).
Identify continuous improvement of forecasting processes and digital capabilities.
Support planning community in terms forecast value add and drive usage of system vs manual forecasting and provide input for Data modeling vision, strategy and execution plans across K-C global segments/BUs
Build a community and strengthen culture among functionally embedded K-C Global data scientists and data modeling enthusiasts by being a thought partner and mentor, establish analytical rigor, share data science best practices and provide hands-on support based on the individual’s needs
Contribute to long-range planning and scenario modeling.
Support global initiatives to harmonize demand forecasting/modeling processes across regions.
Collaborate with Enterprise AI/ML, DTS Delivery teams to implement data science intake process and governance.

In one of our technical roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Key Qualifications and Experiences:
7+ years of experience with hands-on involvement in data modeling, statistical forecasting or data science projects (consulting experience is a plus; experience in CPG/Retail, Demand Planning, Category Management, Digital Marketing, Revenue Management, or Supply Chain preferred).
A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative / statistical field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics) - An advanced degree in a quantitative field is preferred and will be accepted in lieu of 2 years of experience.
Proficiency in any programming language (e.g. R, Python, C++, MiniTab, SAS, Matlab, VBA).
Proficiency with any data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, D3, Shiny).
Demonstrated experience with practical applications of advanced forecasting (e.g. time series models, ARIMA, TBATS, XGBoost) or mining large first party datasets (e.g. churn, CLV, up/cross sell, shrinkage methods, clustering, random forests) [NNs and deep/reinforcement learning familiarity is a plus, but not required].
Demand Planning experience is a plus.
Kinaxis Rapid Response Planning system experience is a plus.
Experience grounding muddy and fuzzy analytics problems by engaging with stakeholders with an open, inquisitive mind to seek information and challenge the status quo.
Comfort in making reasonable assumptions to push forward when faced with less than complete data, known and unknown unknowns, in a fail-fast fail-forward environment.
Very strong academic curiosity to research and learn new approaches, thrive in a culture of innovation, be open to challenge, and be challenged.
Self-starter who can see the big picture, look ahead to identify opportunities and prioritize your work to make the largest impact on the businesses and customer’s vision and requirements.
