Role reports to: Associate Director, R& D Materials team
Location: Mulund

What you will do The Manager, R& D Materials team is responsible for leading end to end management of global specifications. Specification types may include raw material, packaging, finished good, test methods and others. It involves managing all aspects of specifications to support various global and regional requests to ensure Speci fi cations are created and maintained per the current regulatory and industry standards, and internal requirements, to support both new and existing products in all regions. Key part of the global specification center to update Specifications, and manage supplier notifications related to chemicals and packaging materials. Manage Specification activities, updates / improvements through identifying/creating global processes. Effectively partner with global representatives to determine spec content to align to a global spec standards.
Key Responsibilities
- This person will manage a global technical team of both internal and outsourced employees that performs assessments of and provides resolution of issues for Raw Materials/Products specifications used at Internal and External Manufacturing sites to ensure alignment to current compendia, industry standards, product registrations, and internal procedures
- This individual will collaborate with Global sites and the Speci fi cation team business partners and stakeholders (Internal/External Manufacturing Sites, Regulatory, Source Quality, Business Quality, Products team) to drive best practices across various specification types aligned with company goals and objectives
- This person will be responsible for understanding the impact of global Pharmacopoeia monographs on our products and owning changes to the impacted sites to ensure compliance, before e ff ective dates
- This person will support escalation of material related issues at manufacturing sites that may impact business/supply chain key targets
- Drive or provide input to new policies, procedures, or significant changes to existing procedures, aligning with global partners to incorporate best practices
- Demonstrate a balanced and pragmatic approach to projects and challenges, emphasizing creativity alongside practicality. Maintain a results-oriented focus, consistently delivering on business objectives
- Oversee the external partners for outsourcing activities, monitor the KPIs regularly and ensure the compliance to applicable Kenvue standards
- Make fact-based decisions regarding analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and arriving at timely technical decisions
- Lead and manage a team of direct and indirect reports including their development and career growth
What we are looking for Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's/ Masters degree in Chemistry /Pharmacy/Life Sciences with 12-15 years of experience; OR a PhD with 10 years of experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in people management
Desired Qualifications /Skills
- Experience in a GxP environment is required
- Experience with use of Microsoft's suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint ) is required
- Experience with quality compliance systems is preferred
- Experience with Consumer products (OTC and Cosmetic) is preferred
- E ff ective communication skills, as this role requires consistent, frequent collaborations with global sites, project teams, and outsourced technical writers, via virtual meetings and email correspondences
- Strategic and operational skills to prioritize and execute projects based on business and compliance needs
- High level of learning agility and problem-solving skills
- Experience in talent development
