What You Will Do
The Manager at Materials Team (R& D) assumes a leadership role in the Asia Pacific Region (APAC) with a global perspective, contributing to global business operations. This involves addressing supplier-driven changes, cost improvement projects and troubleshooting for internal and external manufacturing sites. Collaborating closely with global business partners, this position plays a pivotal role in delivering impactful global initiatives. Moreover, the Manager at Materials Team (R& D) takes charge of leading, managing, and providing technical guidance on raw material projects.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead APAC change management team to drive E2E execution of Raw Material related changes to drive BCP and CIP projects for personal care product portfolio
2. Optimize processes for qualifying alternate raw materials, aiming for a reduction in qualification timelines and costs. Focus on streamlining procedures to eliminate complexity and non-value-added work.
3. Provide support for diverse projects, including alternate raw material qualifications, potential packaging initiatives, process/cost improvement projects, and investigations to address technical issues related to raw materials in marketed products.
4. Manage cross-functional teams involved in various raw material projects, develop compelling business cases, and offer technical guidance/resolutions throughout project execution.
5. Demonstrate a balanced and pragmatic approach to projects and challenges, emphasizing creativity alongside practicality. Maintain a results-oriented focus, consistently delivering on business objectives.
6. Administer day-to-day operations within a sub-group of the Materials Team, collaborating closely with key stakeholders.
7. Contribute insights to new products, processes, standards, or operational plans supporting Self-care projects.
8. Represent the department in cross-functional R& D groups and external partnership activities.
9. Prioritize science-based problem-solving and actively identify opportunities for improvement.
10. Showcase a comprehensive understanding of business processes/functions and technical expertise to drive informed decision-making.
11. Drive or provide input to new policies, procedures, or significant changes to existing procedures, aligning with global partners to incorporate global best practices
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemistry /pharmacy/Life Science/Cosmetic Technology with 12-15 years of experience; a master's degree with 12 years of experience; OR a PhD with 10 years of experience
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in people management
Desired Qualifications
1. Essential experience in the product development, scale-up, manufacturing, and troubleshooting of personal care products in leave on and rinse products in Skin and Hair care categories.
2. Strong technical expertise in raw materials, synthesis and a comprehensive understanding of their impact on the finished products is highly preferred.
3. Strong familiarity with standard methodologies and procedures applicable to the support of marketed products, both locally and globally.
4. A profound understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is mandatory.
5. Requires a high level of independent discernment.
6. Preferably, a deep understanding of business processes/functions beyond the immediate area of expertise.
7. Critical thinking skills and holistic business acumen are essential.
8. High level of learning agility and problem-solving skills
