Supervise team of field installers, as well as install doors & hardware using impact & cordless drills, skill saws, grinders, belt sanders, routers, jig saws, but not limited to other power tools.
Essential Functions - Oversees the training of district install teams for multiple locations
- Oversees the training of district hollow metal and wood shop teams for multiple locations
- Assist in expanding the knowledge of install teams in automatics, elect hdw, alum storefront, division 10 & pre-install
- Upon request, work with local managers to train and track progress of in-house installers
- Ensures all safety rules/requirements are followed and encourages safe work habits in shops and the field
- Upon request, help to reviews scope of labor for contract projects
- Work with local C& B locations to determine on site project issues and solutions when resolution is needed
- Coordinate subcontractor labor costing sheets to help better align branch costing
- Coordinates and establishes relationships with trusted and new subcontractors
- Provides leadership to entire install and shop teams from hire, training, safety and discipline
- Provide in-house training of installation for installers, project managers and new employees
- Provides direction to Installation Field Supervisors
- Coordinates pre-install efforts in Frederick MD location. Set up, training and processes
- Build out tracking and maintain weekly/monthly installation/ pre-installation scheduling and recovery reportin
- Other duties as assigned by the District Director or Branch Manager
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to lift/carry 25-50 lbs. frequently
- Experience using power tools, such as saws, drills, etc.
- Industry experience with installation of building materials preferred
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Due to job site and Federal contractual requirements, COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Must have strong math skills, communication skills, problem solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
• Ability to determine what type of tool and equipment are needed for a job
Physical Demands This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.
Work Environment This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
