Role Summary

The Associate Analyst conducts environmental and social analysis to support both equity and fixed income research platforms. The role is broad and varied, including engaging with issuers, attending industry conferences, managing and analyzing large datasets, and producing sustainability-focused research on companies, industries and thematic topics. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong financial acumen alongside a clear interest in sustainability and its integration into investment decision-making.

The Global Sustainability team are subject matter experts on environmental and social issues and work in tandem with our Governance team to support Analysts and Portfolio Managers in integrating governance and sustainability considerations into the investment process.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting environmental and social analysis of issuers, including data collection and assessment of material ESG risks and opportunities
  • Produce high-quality sustainability research notes on issuers, sectors and thematic topics
  • Support Equity and Credit Analysts in incorporating environmental and social factors into investment analysis
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal ESG frameworks and methodologies
  • Attend issuer meetings, conferences and field visits, and communicate key insights to the investment team

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a strong academic track record
  • 1+ years relevant equity research, investment banking, or other relevant experience (sustainability focused research experience preferred)
  • Demonstrable financial analysis experience
  • Strong interest and knowledge of financial markets and investing
  • Genuine interest in sustainability
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Candidate should be highly motivated, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with AI and data-driven tools to enhance research, data analysis and workflow efficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills

Preferred:

  • Prior investment or relevant professional experience
  • Experience with market data services (e.g. Bloomberg, FactSet)
  • CFA designation or progress towards completion
  • Knowledge of coding (e.g. Python, SQL)

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$90, 000.00-$120, 000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$90, 000.00-$120, 000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$90, 000.00-$120, 000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
