Job Overview: This role reports to: Kitchen Manager The Kitchen Lead serves as the primary floor supervisor and operational assistant to the Kitchen Manager. While the Kitchen Manager focuses on department-level planning, compliance oversight, and team performance, the Kitchen Lead is heavily involved in hands-on daily duties, performing cooks, and ensuring floor execution aligns with company standards. Job Responsibilities: Floor Execution & Cooking Assist in executing the daily production targets set by leadership. Execute cooking, demolding, and packaging processes to ensure batches stay on schedule. Monitor side work completion at the end of each shift and ensure appropriate completion. Ensure batch production paperwork is filled out appropriately each day. Labeling and Packaging Oversight Supervise and/or participate in the packaging and labeling process. Verify all package counts are accurate according to the batch record. Verify label application accuracy during the packaging phase. Quality Control Check Confirm that each unit receives a product label, batch label, and compliance sticker. Spot-check completed units to ensure label accuracy and verify seal integrity. Performance Improvement Identify opportunities for improvement and help foster the team to reach weekly/monthly goals. Inventory & Receiving When kitchen deliveries arrive, count and verify the materials. Document the received quantities, vendor, delivery date, and any discrepancies in the receiving log on the Order Tracker. Facility Standards Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Escalation Identify and immediately report equipment malfunctions, floor bottlenecks, or SOP deviations to the Kitchen Manager. Key Success Indicators: Daily cook and demolding cycles are completed on time without unescalated floor bottlenecks. 100% of defective units (e.g., underfills, air bubbles, shape failures) are caught and reported to the Manager prior to packaging. Packaged units are consistently spot-checked for accuracy and seal integrity. Zero undocumented discrepancies between physical incoming deliveries and purchase orders. Zero discrepancies in packaging and labeling. No miscounts or underfills. Zero major SOP deviations during shift execution, maintaining a clean and compliant environment.
