Your JobKoch Fertilizer Canada, ULC is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to join the team as an Safety Specialist to contribute to the organization's value creation capabilities.
Our TeamBased in Brandon, Manitoba, Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC's (KFCU) operations have been producing agricultural fertilizer products since 1967. We synthesize and blend nitrogen, phosphate and sulfur products with ammonia, which we market primarily in the prairie provinces of Canada and the northern United States. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, we employ approximately 270 dedicated team members. What You Will Do- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal and provincial regulations and/or industry best practices
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance
- Investigate safety-related events and near-misses ensure we learn from them while developing strategies to prevent and/or provide layers of protection
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety
- Engage in professional development to stay informed about regulatory and industry trends and emerging safety practices
- Support the identification and analysis of safety-related transformation opportunities
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training materials and workshops on safety and culture
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance safety initiatives
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support safety-related projects and initiatives
- Assist in communicating safety strategies and initiatives to ensure alignment and understanding
- Support the continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and programs
Physical Requirements • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights
• Unassisted physical mobility in and around plant and equipment
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - Post-secondary education in Occupational Safety or experience in related field
What Will Put You Ahead- Experience in a chemical or refinery manufacturing environment
- Experience knowledge of federal and provincial regulations
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., CRSP, NCSO)
- Basic understanding of HOP concepts
