As an After School Staff Member, you will create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment that allows children to learn, grow, and thrive beyond the traditional school day. On any given day, you'll apply your knowledge of effective teaching practices to lead engaging activities, ensure safe check-ins and check-outs, and collaborate with team members to supervise children, maintain safety, encourage positive behaviors, and stay in compliance with licensing standards. You'll also maintain clear communication with teammates and supervisors, document incidents as required, and address children's needs.

To succeed in this role, you should have an interest or experience working directly with children in recreational or educational settings. You understand how to apply rules and provide positive redirection to ensure safety, all while actively engaging with the children and making the program enjoyable. Qualifications

You have a passion for education, social work, childcare, non-profit work, or a related field. You're motivated to become a teacher, trainer, administrator, or program director-or to develop your leadership, organizational, and group management skills. Our Before & After School Programs are the perfect fit for individuals like you, offering part-time, flexible opportunities for recent graduates, part-time college students, retirees, gap-year participants, or anyone seeking meaningful and impactful work.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent to meet Group Leader qualifications through the Department of Early Education (MA) or Department of Health and Human Services (NH). (Those under 18 may be considered for Assistant Group Leader positions.)
  • A minimum of 3-6 months of prior experience in a school-age program (grades K-5) is highly preferred.
  • Consistent afternoon availability Monday-Friday, 1: 30-6: 00 PM (5 days per week preferred; 3 days minimum required).
