We manufacture components for the defense market as well for commercial markets such as power generation industries. Wollaston Alloys/CPP Boston is seeking a driven individual to join our team as a Lab Technician! The Lab Technician is a crucial position within our facility. This is an excellent opportunity for to join a fast-paced company that has continued to grow over the past 60 years! Essential Functions:
  • Operate Spectrometer Equipment
  • Prepare and test metal samples
  • Record and report results
  • Ensure samples meet required chemical standards
  • Assist in identifying and correcting non-conformities
  • Read and interpret customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents and work instructions.
  • Support Melt department pouring schedule
  • Input chemistry and related info into database/business system.
  • Perform calibration/verification of analyzing equipment
  • Clean and maintain the testing equipment used in the lab.
  • Report need of maintenance for equipment to supervisor
  • Observe all company rules and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma. Vocational/Technical school preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and chemical aptitude.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Good verbal communication skills. Team oriented.
  • Flexible; self-motivated
  • Willing to work in a team environment atmosphere
  • Willing to cross train in other areas when down time occurs
Starting pay is $20 USD per hour
This is a non-management position
This is a full time position
