Wollaston Alloys/CPP Boston is seeking a driven individual to join our team as a Methoding Processing Engineer! The Methoding Processing Engineer is a crucial position within our facility. Essential Job Functions/Duties
  • Uses experience and process management skills to identify and implement continuous improvement activities. Supports plant management in identifying and removing obstacles that impact the lean transformation.
  • Responsible for identifying, driving, and facilitating process improvement opportunities company-wide with emphasis on processes that will improve the company's cost structure through improved yield, quality, and productivity.
  • Has strong leadership skills and can motivate and drive teams, including peer teams, to achieve results
  • Can lead projects on their own to completion, often times without direct authority
  • Actively initiates sharing of best practices throughout the plant
  • Serves as an internal consultant and participant to improvement projects
  • Ensures documentation and posting of continuous improvement activities/events. Ensures alignment and collaboration between manufacturing departments; ensures that successful methods are shared and deployed where appropriate.
  • Proposes and defines the work methodology for process engineering and continuous improvement projects execution. Works directly with engineers, operators, and other departments as needed to define current and implement new processes / technologies that best utilize available labor, materials, production and engineering needs.
  • Responsible for identifying existing and / or new technologies that will improve quality and reduce manufacturing costs. This includes working with engineers, operators, and metallurgists to implement new technologies.
Qualifications
  • Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field strongly preferred for this position.
  • Experience: 2+ years previous experience in a Continuous Improvement or Project Management role required. Experience working on 6S, Lean, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping/Pareto Analysis preferred.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt strongly preferred.
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Attention to detail, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Minitab, ability to work with others through complex situations and lead interdisciplinary teams.
