The Data Intelligence - Business Development Specialist will be part of a global team that is focused on executing the growth plan and achieving State Street's data strategy. You will be part of a global team that is focused on developing new relationships with both current clients and prospects by providing new innovative data products and unique insights. An outgoing personality, entrepreneurial mind set, and comfort in learning new technologies is critical to success in this role.

The team you'll be joining is part of State Street Data Intelligence (SSDI), a division dedicated to transforming data into actionable insights for smarter investment decisions. Launched in 2025, SSDI develops and delivers innovative products that give clients a competitive edge through unique data sets, including State Street's proprietary data assets. Our current offerings include the State Street PriceStats Indices-trusted by hundreds of investors and multiple central banks worldwide-and the State Street Private Capital Indices, which help investors construct and benchmark private equity and credit portfolios. Looking ahead, SSDI is pursuing an ambitious strategy to expand into additional asset classes, providing clients with in depth data on deals and portfolio companies to enhance due diligence and investment selection.

What you will be responsible for
  • Prospect and engage with new prospects to build sales pipeline for data products and analytics and generate new commercial opportunities for State Street.
  • Work with internal sales and relationship management teams across the Bank to identify and engage with potential clients to develop sales pipeline for State Street's data business.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and promote new data offerings.
  • Travel to engage with clients and represent State Street at industry conferences and other events to source new leads for the Data Intelligence business.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role
  • Experience in engaging with institutional investors engaging on investment research, financial data, or analytics.
  • Proven track record of developing new client relationships to develop a sales pipeline to meet and exceed targets.
  • Experience navigating a large, complex organization and collaborating with colleagues across multiple business lines to achieve business goals.
  • Comfort with developing deep product knowledge to support internal sales teams and engage with clients.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a "choose to own it" mentality.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience representing investment research, financial data, and analytics products to sophisticated institutional investors.
  • Prior experience with an Alternative Data or Market Data firm in a client facing role a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field. MBA a plus.

Salary Range:
$80, 000 - $140, 000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
