Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Power Electronics Engineering Intern position at our Andover, MA facility. This position is expected to start June 2026 and continue through summer term for minimum 12 weeks. The candidate would be a member of the Secure Power Division which provides "certainty of power" to the digital world, under the "APC Brand".

What will you do?

The Power Electronics intern candidate will be joining a cross functional R& D team at the forefront of developing high density power converter for AI datacenter applications. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience in a dynamic environment.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary group of engineers from electrical, mechanical, firmware and test engineers to assist in the design and development of high voltage, high density DC-DC power converters and Uninterruptible Power Supply systems.
  • Utilize simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS, and LTSpice for modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in development of power converters and related magnetic, analog and digital circuitry.
  • Perform lab testing and validation of electrical components and systems.
  • Participate in benchmarking analysis and documentation.
  • Utilize schematics and layout capture tool such as Cadence.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22 - $27 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs. The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong background in electrical courses and lab work. Familiarity with switched mode power supply design.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LTSpice.
  • Good lab testing skills and hands-on experience with electrical components.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with schematics and layout capture tools such as Cadence is a plus.
  • Knowledge in working with DSP and embedded system is a plus.
  • Understanding of high-voltage, isolated power converter topologies is a plus.
  • Currently local to Andover, MA and be able to work full-time in person.
