Security Operations Center Operator

The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA is seeking candidates for the Overnight Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator position. SOC Operators monitor computer-driven access control, surveillance, and life-safety systems throughout the museum campus. The SOC also coordinates incident response with alarm service vendors, emergency responders and in-house security staff. Additional duties include maintaining daily activity logs, filing incident reports, operational and performance tests of relevant systems, and basic maintenance of control center equipment. SOC operators must have a strong working knowledge of security field operations in order to successfully coordinate effective response procedures. Operators will learn multiple systems, problem-solving, and decision making within the context of the policies, procedures, and protocols of the Security Department and the Security Operations Center. Successful candidates will be comfortable working independently, have strong written and verbal communication skills, an acumen with technical concepts, and an assertive yet professional demeanor. The ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise well-reasoned discretion is essential.
