The role

We are seeking a Production Associate to prepare and qualify Master and Working Cell Banks; perform quality control testing on GMP- and non-GMP-grade cell banks; maintain cell line storage and traceability; and support cell line engineering activities. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficient hands-on laboratory techniques.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Prepares all Master Cell Banks (MCBs) and Working Cell Banks (WCBs), including cell growth and suspension in freezing solution, vial preparation, and vialing.
  • Perform all GMP and non-GMP cell bank QCs.
  • Ensures proper transfer and placement of cell banks into correct storage locations.
  • Assists the strain manager to ensure accurate documentation and traceability of engineered cell lines and associated product source information.
  • Assist the strain manager in cell line engineering.
  • Preparation and maintenance of competent E. coli strains for in-house use.
  • Perform routine environmental monitoring.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or related field with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with qPCR, DNA sequencing and standard molecular biology techniques.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours is necessary to meet development and manufacturing needs, structured around an M-F first shift schedule.

  • Experience using Geneious software.
  • Experience working in Benchling.
  • Experience in strain engineering.

Estimated base salary hiring range for this position is $56, 000-$65, 000

Base salary is one component of our generous total rewards compensation package. Employees are eligible to receive:

  • Annual discretionary profit-sharing bonus
  • Participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan "ESOP" (eligible after two full years of service)
  • Exceptional benefits package at a nominal cost to the employee including a 10% 401k match
