Overview Under supervision of the Principal Investigator and Senior Postdoctoral Fellows, the
Research Assistant will carry out studies to elucidate links between proteasome function, metabolic homeostasis and ribosomopathies.
This position will afford the opportunity to learn a broad array of techniques and gain first-hand experience in design, execution, and interpretation of experiments. Previous post-baccalaureates in our laboratory have earned authorship on publications, have benefitted from career development mentoring, and have gone on to succeed in MD/PhD, MD, and PhD programs.

Responsibilities - Carries out molecular cell biology projects to understand metabolic regulation
- Plans and conducts experiments using cultured mammalian cells and E. elegans
- Maintains appropriate records of study design and results.
- Evaluates research results, discussing project outcomes with laboratory personnel.
- Works collaboratively with post-doctoral fellows and other research assistants.
- Assists with general laboratory supply, equipment maintenance, lab organization, and preparation of reagents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree
- Longitudinal project-based experience working in a basic science research lab
- Familiarity with basic laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ability to follow experimental protocols and trouble-shoot experiments. Well-developed attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational skills (ability to prioritize and multitask) and communication skills (communicate clearly and effectively via verbal and written instruction).
- Interest in science, highly motivated, ability to take initiative.
- Ability to work independently and with others in the lab in team efforts.
- Competencies with mammalian cell culture, immunoblotting, PCR, are desirable but not required.
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.

(Max) USD $24.37/Hr.
