The Senior Finance Director, Supply Chain and Operations Finance will play a meaningful role driving the strategy, tactics, and execution of Abiomed’s Supply Chain & Quality’s strategic imperatives, developing deeper business insights and functional efficiency. This position will work closely with the Supply Chain & Quality teams. In addition, this role will collaborate with broader Abiomed Finance teams and JNJ MedTech Finance teams including reporting on key GP, Inventory and CAPEX metrics and analytics. The Sr. Finance Director will be responsible for developing their team, ensuring compliance on related Inventory & CAPEX accounting processes, and continuing key integration activities. This is a global role with responsibility for manufacturing sites in the US and Germany.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Supply Chain & Quality organizations; be key strategic Finance business partner to COO and VP of Quality.

  • Lead forecast & budget processes for Supply Chain to achieve financial targets on time; heavy focus on GP, spending, FAA, OCNIS, CAPEX & Inventory

  • Ensure alignment on key metrics & assumptions across the organization

  • Responsible for financial components of overall network & facility strategy

  • Ensure inventory compliance on Inventory valuation, standards, reserves, cycle counts, PII and other metrics

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

  • Drive business case development and financial analysis to support capital appropriation requests.

  • Ensure proper accounting and compliance on all CAPEX related processes

  • Development, reporting & analytics for key supply chain metrics including Scrap, Yields, Production efficiency, Inventory efficiency, and headcount

  • Provide effective coaching and direction to team through developmental mentorship and performance evaluation, building a high performing, engaged team

  • Manage risks related to currency fluctuations, regional compliance, and supply chain disruptions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advance degree preferred (MBA)

  • 12+ years of professional experience as a Finance Business Partner, with extensive experience in a cross-functional environment

  • Experience in supporting high value strategic projects, providing exceptional insights and business judgement

  • Consistent track record of continuous improvement

  • Proven ability to track financials across financial statements, identify risks and opportunities early, and define mitigation measures / acceleration plans where needed

  • Experience leading and working in a fast-paced multifaceted environment

  • Ability to influence senior leadership, motivate change, and build followership

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, and capable of communicating sophisticated financial concepts to non-Finance colleagues

  • Must be highly organized with the ability to lead multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and successfully prioritize them. Attention to detail required.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; tenacity to learn, analyze, and resolve situations

  • Capable to work through ambiguity with a proactive approach

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.

Geography:

  • Preference for position to be located either in Danvers, Massachusetts or Aachen Germany

  • Will consider remote locations with the ability to regularly travel to Danvers and Aachen

The expected base pay range for this position is $174, 000 to $255, 000.
