In this leadership role, the Staff Enterprise Architecture Analyst is responsible for the maturation of Insulet's enterprise architecture practice . This includes evolving the processes, governance, operating model, and tooling that support consistent, transparent, and high-quality technology decision-making across the enterprise.
The role leads the governance of Insulet's enterprise IT technology portfolio and standards, reference architectures, capability analysis driven strategies, and roadmaps across all enterprise architecture domains, including Enterprise IT, Digital Service & Customer Experience, Enterprise Data, and Corporate and Manufacturing Systems.
This is a full time exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Architecture.
Responsibilities Responsible for managing Insulet's technology portfolio, enterprise architecture governance processes, operating model, and supporting tooling. Partner with colleagues in IT, Enterprise Architecture, Program Management, and delivery teams to deliver the following:
- Own and evolve enterprise architecture processes and governance mechanisms, including portfolio documentation, roadmaps, standards, decisions, governance and review forums.
- Design and continuously improve the enterprise architecture operating model, including engagement patterns, decision rights, and collaboration mechanisms.
- Lead cross functional architecture working groups to define and implement enterprise wide standards, reference architectures, and shared practices.
- Partner with IT, product development, and procurement to mature technology evaluation, vendor management, and lifecycle practices.
- Establish mechanisms to assess architecture and architecture process maturity and track progress using meaningful metrics.
- Implement the multi-phase deployment of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) tool, moving from initial inventory to strategic roadmapping .
- Maintain the "Single Source of Truth" within the tool by auditing architectural artifacts, managing the metamodel, and ensuring compliance with taxonomy standards .
- Develop automated dashboards within the EA tool to provide leadership with visibility into capability heat mapping, technical debt, lifecycle risks, cost of ownership and cloud transformation progress.
- Act as the primary solution architectural point of contact for one or more specific business units to ensure domain projects align with enterprise strategy.
- Assist in drafting Solution Architecture Documents (SADs) for new initiatives ensuring they utilize approved enterprise patterns and shared services.
- Prepare materials for the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and document all decisions or exceptions related to the specific domain.
Required Skills and Competencies - Significant experience as a solution or enterprise architect in a medium to large enterprise environment.
- Experience developing technology strategies, roadmaps, enterprise architecture artifacts, and governance frameworks based on standards such as TOGAF, SAFe, Gartner, Zachman, etc .
- Significant e xperience with one or more popular enterprise architecture tools. Archimate and Bizzdesign preferred.
- Experience building, scaling, and maturing enterprise architecture practices, including processes, standards, and supporting tooling.
- Experience with IT service management and application portfolio management practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable architecture and technology initiatives.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.
Required Leadership Skills & Behaviors: - Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to leverage technical expertise to establish credibility with engineering, product management, and program management teams across IT and R& D.
- Strong emotional intelligence, with demonstrated capability to lead change and drive adoption of new ways of working.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and incrementally improving processes and operating models.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical STEM discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressively senior experience in IT application management, development management, and/or architectural roles within commercial organizations that manufacture products with significant device and software components.
- Experience in MedTech or Life Sciences strongly preferred.
Additional Information The position can be based in either our Acton, Massachusetts or San Diego, California offices.
Travel is estimated at approximately 10% but will flex depending on business need .
