Position OverviewThe Senior Manufacturing Equipment Engineer is a key contributor to operational excellence within the manufacturing environment. This role focuses on optimizing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production. The position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting new product introductions while maintaining compliance with safety, cGMP, and regulatory standards.
ResponsibilitiesEquipment Ownership & Technical Leadership- Serve as the subject‑matter expert (SME) for assigned automated equipment, ensuring uptime, OEE, and long-term reliability.
- Develop equipment roadmaps, including upgrades, lifecycle planning, and obsolescence mitigation.
- Drive cross‑functional problem-solving with manufacturing, quality, controls, and maintenance teams.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement- Analyze equipment performance data to drive cycle‑time reduction, scrap reduction, and yield improvement.
- Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve process stability.
- Introduce advanced automation features (vision inspection, predictive maintenance sensors, auto‑calibration mechanisms, etc.).
Maintenance & Reliability- Define PM (Preventive Maintenance) and PdM (Predictive Maintenance) strategies.
- Mentor technicians on advanced troubleshooting of robotics, servos, PLCs, and automated systems.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, spare‑parts lists, and calibration/maintenance records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of Minitab and/or JMP for statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks and technical print reading.
- Proficient in Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and assembly challenges involving molded components, stamped metal, and springs.
- Expertise in structured problem-solving tools and methodologies.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
Education and ExperienceMinimum Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical, Industrial medical device or equivalent field with 5+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Or MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or Equivalent with 3-5 years of medical device experience.
Additional Information- 3-5+ years of experience in a medical device or other regulated environment with validated processes is preferred.
- Able to work off shifts (nights/weekends), be on call during off hours and have flexibility to come into plant when escalations require your physical support.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 5% travel required.

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $94, 700.00 - $142, 100.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
