Insulet is hiring a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (Hybrid – Acton, MA) in Acton, MA. This is a full-time position.

Job Summary
This is a senior electrical engineering position responsible for the design, development, and product sustaining of low-power, battery-operated medical device electronics, focusing on wearable device wireless connectivity (Bluetooth Low Energy/BLE) and EMI/EMC/ESD robustness. The role requires a strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, proven expertise in leading technical projects, and managing multiple tasks concurrently. This individual will collaborate closely with other electrical engineering team members, outside contract design houses, vendors, and the manufacturing, software, mechanical, and quality groups. As a senior technical contributor, this individual collaborates cross-functionally and reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Electrical Engineering. Position Overview: \nThis is an electrical engineering position responsible for design and development of low power battery operated medical devices electronics. This position must have a good understanding of both analog and digital circuit design, and be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently. This position requires close cooperation with other members of electrical engineering team to accomplish project objectives. It also requires interaction with outside contract design house and vendors, manufacturing, software, mechanical, and quality groups. This individual will be reporting directly to Director of Electrical Engineering.\n\nResponsibilities: \n• \tResponsible for design and development of low power battery operating device used to administrate insulin to diabetes patients. \n• \tParticipate in generating design requirements, prototyping, and design implementation. \n• \tResponsible for conducting design reviews, design verification, design documentation, in accordance to FDA design control guidelines.\n• \tResponsible for generating test requirement matrix and procedures to test design input requirements.\n• \tResponsible for identifying test methods, and development of test fixtures for purpose of design verification test cases.\n• \tParticipate in cross-functional meetings to review design, manufacturing procedures, or quality related issues.\n• \t Apply principles and techniques of electrical engineering to analyze failures to improve design or manufacturing processes.\n• \tParticipate in human factor / usability and design validation process.\n• \tParticipate in risk management analysis and documentation. \n• \tResponsible for design modification, new component qualification, design change test requirements, and design change documentation.\n• \tPerform other duties as required.\n\nEducation and Experience: \n\nMinimum Requirements: \n• \tMinimum of a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical engineering related fields (medical device field is preferred) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n• \tDemonstrated working knowledge of electrical engineering (both analog and digital).\n• \tDemonstrated working knowledge of low power embedded design.\n• \tDemonstrated working knowledge of Computer Aided Design.\n• \tDemonstrated working knowledge of tools and instruments utilized in electrical engineering field.\n• \tWorking knowledge of LabVIEW tools is a plus.\n• \tFamiliarity with FDA guidelines on design and manufacturing of the medical devices is a plus.\n• \tKnowledge of RF Design and BLE protocol is a plus.\t\n\nPreferred Skills and Competencies: \n• \tEffective verbal and written communication skills.\n• \tAbility to communicate at multiple levels of an organization.\n• \tAbility to organize and judge priorities.\n• \tAbility to manage projects.\n• \tKnowledge of analog and power supply design.\n• \tKnowledge of digital circuit design and Microprocessors.\n• \tKnowledge of low power battery operating embedded system.\n• \tKnowledge of PCB layout design rules.\n• \tFamiliarity with the RF design and BLE protocol is a plus.\n• \tAbility to use laboratory equipment for electronics measurement.\n• \tKnowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW tool is a plus.\n• \tKnowledge of electrical safety and EMC standards for medical devices is a plus.\n• \tKnowledge of FDA design control guidelines is a plus.\n\nPhysical Requirements: \n• \tThis position may require business travel.

Additional Information:
Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $86, 700.00 - $130, 050.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
