Description:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Senior Product Manager will develop and execute the strategic business plan and initiatives for current and future products used to treat acute kidney injury. Develops and implements commercialization plans that lead to the division’s financial and growth objectives. The Senior Product Manager oversees all phases of the product development process from ideation to product launch. He/she works cross-functionally with R& D, Quality, Manufacturing & Operations, Regulatory, Marketing, Marcom, Finance and Clinical Education to support the launch of future technologies and sustaining projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain and analyze feedback (voice of the customer) from key opinion leaders (KOLs), current and future customers, third party market research, and internal customers/partners to guide product development strategy and prioritize initiatives

  • Facilitate the design, collection and analysis of market research to identify customer needs and market requirements

  • Define product concepts and create market needs

  • Serve as product management representative on product core teams and drive voice of the customer throughout the product development process; develop recommendations for technical product direction

  • Support the identification, prioritization and development of new product opportunities and quantify the business impact, to facilitate a competitive product pipeline

  • Function as product expert internally and externally as the product(s) move through their lifecycle

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute successful new product launches

  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies that support execution of product launches which include training, initial market segmentation, business feasibility, positioning and messaging content

  • Collaborate with global product management and marketing to synthesize business strategies into product marketing plans that maximize global and regional execution

  • Champion development efforts across multiple internal and external groups

  • Facilitate timely resolution of roadblocks throughout the development phases

  • Ensure project needs are addressed (e.g., design elements, product claims, field education, operations planning, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel 20-30% to conduct business at various locations (manufacturing sites, customer sites, trade shows, and head quarter visits).

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 7 years of successful related marketing, product, or project management experience

  • Well versed in the dynamics of medical device markets

  • PC application skills: MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point

  • Ability to influence, facilitate and collaborate with various constituencies within the company

  • Creates solid relationships across an organization and broadens those relationships over time

  • Knows how a product is adopted in a health care environment

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team; ability to be self-motivated

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong learning agility, flexible and adaptable

  • Ability to lead and collaborate across business units, functions
