Job Description

Dynisco is hiring a Machinist in Franklin, MA. This is a full-time position.

Position requires:
  • A passing Machinist Aptitude Exam score. (May be readministered due to changing business needs)
  • Proficiency to perform all machining functions on present and future equipment, including but not limited to lathes, milling machines, CNCs, grinders, presses, cutters, threaders and polishing wheels.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and process sheets (MI's).
  • Expertise in using precision measurement devices including but not limited to calipers, gages, verniers, and optical comparators.
  • The ability to understand and communicate written and verbal instruction in English.
  • Specialized knowledge in manual machining.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Possible periodic physical effort requiring moving material or tool benches.
  • Work performed 90% standing, 10% seated.
  • High concentration for periods of varying duration when working with close tolerances and/or complex shapes.
  • Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, as required to perform essential job duties.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meets established standards of productivity and efficiency while maintaining high quality levels on all work performed.
  • Immediately report any equipment, process, safety or product issues to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Notify Supervisor or Manager of any equipment or consumable needs for job effectiveness

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Sets up and performs progressive machining operations on a single part to completion.
  • Performs special machine operations on experimental and/or developmental work under Engineering guidance.
  • Responsible for area housekeeping and 6S.
  • Perform training when required or requested by Supervisor/Manager
  • Required to select proper tooling, feeds, speeds, coolants and lubricants.
  • Works from manufacturing instructions, specification sheets, drawings, sketches, engineering instructions
  • Must be able to work independently and without constant direct supervision.
  • Maintains record of work as required, reports discrepancies and problems to supervisor
  • Perform all other functions or duties requested by Supervisor or Manager.
