VP-Operational Excellence and Intelligent Automation

The VP of Operational Excellence & Intelligent Automation will be responsible for establishing the strategic vision and execution framework for continuous improvement, operational transformation, automation, and AI-enabled innovation across the Records and Information Management business. This role will drive operational performance, productivity, customer experience, and EBITDA growth through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and warehouse automation technologies.The VP will lead an established Operational Excellence organization, including Black Belts and continuous improvement professionals, while partnering closely with Operations, Technology, Product, Finance, Commercial, and Digital leadership teams. This leader will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering transformational initiatives that improve service quality, operational scalability, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, and overall business performance across the Americas.

Primary Functions:

• Set expectations for and execution of the Operational Excellence strategy across all RIM operations.
• Lead enterprise-wide Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement programs.
• Establish and achieve operational performance, productivity, quality, customer service, and financial goals.
• Develop and maintain a multi-year operational transformation roadmap aligned with division growth and profitability objectives.
• Lead and develop a team of Operational Excellence professionals, including Black Belts and project leaders.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and automation solutions that improve operational performance.
• Partner with Technology and Digital teams to accelerate deployment of AI-enabled tools, predictive analytics, process mining, and workflow automation solutions.
• Evaluate and deploy warehouse automation technologies including robotics, autonomous material handling, RFID-enabled workflows, computer vision, and automated storage and retrieval systems.
• Lead process redesign initiatives focused on labor productivity, routing optimization, inventory accuracy, records retrieval performance, digitization workflows, and secure disposition operations.
• Assess, evaluate, and report on operational performance and financial impact of transformation initiatives.
• Successfully work across and influence a heavily matrixed organization including operations, software, technology, products, commercial, finance, and accounting.
• Continuously seek new opportunities for innovation, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Establish governance, standards, metrics, and reporting processes for continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to determine business strategies and operational priorities.
• Support acquisition due diligence, integration planning, and operational synergy realization efforts.
• Interface with clients as required regarding operational performance, transformation initiatives, and service improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and local, regional, and federal regulations.
• Build and approve departmental hiring, succession, and talent development plans.
• Provide business leadership and operational expertise to support strategic growth initiatives.

Education and Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
• MBA or advanced graduate degree preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required; Master Black Belt certification preferred.
• 12+ years of operational leadership experience in Records and Information Management, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, business services, or related industries.
• 7+ years leading enterprise Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or Transformation organizations.
• Demonstrated experience implementing AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, warehouse automation, or robotics-enabled operational solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Deep understanding of Records and Information Management operations and information governance principles.
• Proven operational excellence and business transformation experience.
• Expert knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong experience driving measurable EBITDA improvement through productivity and process optimization initiatives.
• Demonstrated success implementing AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation technologies within operational environments.
• Experience evaluating and deploying warehouse automation solutions, robotics, and material handling technologies.
• Strong financial management, business case development, and capital investment evaluation skills.
• Great understanding of business functions including Operations, Technology, Product, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service.
• Demonstrable ability and proven track record in strategy development and execution.
• Working knowledge of advanced analytics, operational KPIs, and performance management systems.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and change management skills.
• Ability to influence senior executives and drive alignment across a complex matrix organization.
