Job Position Summary

Vision Care platform is a key enabler of growth of Vision. The Senior Manager Vision Care SCP will have accountability for effectively delivering supplier performance across reliability of supply, GP improvement & cost competitiveness for the business.

The role has the critical responsibility of ensuring mutual understanding between the procurement organization and the Limerick site; representing all key areas of spend.

This role will provide strong procurement leadership for Vision Care and serve the Site Leadership Team (SLT), leaning into the E2E Supply Chain operating model. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing – Vision Care, the Senior Manager will coordinate, facilitate, and enable programs that promote procurement best practices across Vision Care sites.

In this position, you will lead Raw Material Governance in collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders, driving value creation and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategies to ensure reliable supply. The Senior Manager will also oversee inventory programs optimization, partnering closely with the Planning team to improve inventory management and achieve cash flow targets. Additionally, the role will work closely with the rest of the procurement community to manage Vision Care spend, with one direct report and one dotted-line report.

The Senior Manager VC SCP will be accountable for ensuring alignment between the J& J Supply Chain Procurement strategy and the Vision Care business strategy to deliver maximum value.

The Senior Manager VC SCP’s scope of responsibilities include:

• Develop and drive the Procurement vision for, with and through the Vision Care stakeholder community to deliver on Supplier performance across reliability of supply, quality, cost, innovation, and growth commitments.
• Shape the strategic direction and execution for Vision Care Raw Materials, ensuring an optimal balance of cost and partnership while consistently meeting quality standards and business requirements. This will be achieved through close collaboration with Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Planning teams.
• Serve as the owner of procurement activity, engaging with Business Partners and Key Stakeholders across Supply Chain and R& D, including LT membership and financial forums to drive major decision making.
• Orchestrate Category strategy performance to deliver on commitments and business needs by providing robust data and insights from the business across Supply Chain and R& D.
• Lead Raw Materials Governance in partnership with Engineering to drive long range pipeline and funnel
• Understand long range requirements of the business and engage in strategic planning and partnering via S& OP forums to ensure alignment across all critical supply chain functions.
• Own Procurement metrics and partner with the rest of Supply Chain Procurement community to deliver annual value improvements and drive competitive advantage, continuously monitor the needs of the business to make sure their requirements are met.
• Build and maintain relationships throughout J& J that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of optimal approaches and solutions.
• Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to drive end to end value for the business.
• Provide people leadership and oversee the daily management of the Vision Care Source Team members and SLT.
• Escalate issues that may impact the business or Global Procurement organization and collaborate to resolution for all Supplier related issues

• BS Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Operations Management or related field. (Master or MBA preferred)

• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in a logistics/supply chain role within a high volume manufacturing environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong business and finance acumen, deep understanding of managing for impact in complex matrix and manufacturing environment
• Strong business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management, Category Management and Supplier Management).
• Thrive in fast-paced environments, is flexible, collaborative and deadline driven; lead complexity and take ownership for deliverables
• Proven ability to influence/collaborate to get to desired results
• Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with Vision Care & JNJ Senior Management).
