Position Description:
To provide support for the running of the POP/DEN production facility.
A member of the team responsible for the manufacture of products in a manner that allows
business objectives to be met. This involves working without supervision and being responsible
for plant operation and all associated documentation.
Be responsible for the operation, sharing knowledge, coaching other team members.

Functions, Duties, Tasks
EH& S:

  • Ensure activities of self and other team members are such as to meet all health, safety and environmental requirements. Incidents must be reported, and where appropriate, investigated and acted upon immediately.

  • Complete all housekeeping activities necessary to ensure a safe, clean working environment compliant with site health and safety, environmental and occupational hygiene requirements.

  • Write and execute Permits to Work to ensure that both colleagues and contractors comply with requirements of the permits whilst carrying out identified activities.

  • Attend EH & S and other safety related meetings. Carry out environmental monitoring and recording as required.

Process/Equipment Operation:

  • Perform day-to-day operation of manufacturing plant through computer controlled and manual operations meeting cGMP requirements and optimising schedule performance

  • Identify any potential deviations and determine/take appropriate actions.

  • Focus on the economy of operations, their efficiency and effectiveness such that yield, utilisation, losses, and expenses achieve or improve on targets.

Maintenance:

  • Perform day-to-day repairs and fault finding. Carry out PM tasks, breakdown repairs and condition monitoring as required. This includes identifying any associated deviations and determining/taking the appropriate corrective actions. Assist in the identification of optimum time scales for PMs, the execution of PM procedures and completion of any required documentation and/or computer system data entry.

  • Review and utilise historical data on equipment from sources in archives to optimise equipment performance and maintenance

Analytical:

  • As required, sample and/or test raw materials, intermediates and product within cGMP requirements.

  • As required, sample and/or test and arrange for the safe and regulatory compliant disposal of waste streams.

Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain documentation required for cGMP, SOP generation and review, risk assessments, continuous improvement activities and other projects within the plant site.

  • Complete work tickets, control, trend charts, housekeeping records and environmental documents accurately and in a regulatory compliant manner. Promptly report incidents and potential deviations. Complete entries into Fixx etc


Raw Materials Receipt, Warehousing, Final Product Despatch:

  • Assist with the acceptance and sampling of deliveries and movements of materials. This may include sampling and receipt of raw materials and packaging delivered directly to manufacturing facilities and preparing final products for shipment to the customer. It will be necessary to liaise with the Quality to ensure timely approval of materials for use or dispatch. In a safe manner, use fork trucks, other mechanical handling devices, and warehouse management systems to successfully complete and record all material movements.


Performance Management and Continuous Learning:

  • Consistently participate in Performance Management processes about the setting of objectives and the development and implementation of a personal development plan. Take part in all training initiatives raised by the company. This will include cross-skill training, IT skills, personal development, and such other skill additions as may be deemed necessary by management to improve competence in a dynamic environment. Proactively seek opportunities for self-development and the simultaneous growth of the Company


Process Improvement and Problem Solving:

  • Co-operate with all team members in the improvement of process operations and working practices. Work with other shift team members and, when appropriate, day support personnel to resolve issues using root cause analysis. Are responsible, with the assistance of management and day support functions, for improving the operation and maintenance of equipment, together with

  • manufacturing and organisational processes within the plant site in general and within the manufacturing area specifically. Coach other team members in the application of such improvements. Optimise PM methods and frequencies – progressing predictive rather than preventative methods. Be responsible for leading problem solving and improvement activities

  • associated with operational equipment

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

  • NVQ L3 or equivalent qualification in the mechanical discipline
