Waskey Bridges, Inc. is hiring a Batch Supervisor in Baton Rouge, LA. This is a full-time position.

JOB SUMMARY The Batch Plant Manager will supervise and support day to day concrete plant preparation, production, maintenance, and repair and quality control activities at the batch plant. The ideal candidate must be eager to achieve and maintain a level of excellence in customer service as well as have a high standard of expectations for themselves and those with whom they manage. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage daily batch operations and personnel to maintain safe, efficient and timely workflow. Communicate with Dispatch for regarding timing of shipments Daily maintenance of the batch plant operations Responsible for training and development of associates to ensure quality concrete is produced and delivered accordingly to meet Companys daily schedules. Participate in daily/weekly meetings with Operations team as requested. Develop ongoing goals and use preventative maintenance tools to maintain plant and equipment is in good working order. Recommend and confer with Operations Manager on items needing to be addressed to facilitate the success of the department. Involvement in implementation/development and making adjustments to mix designs and materials to meet job specs (as required). Manage plant operations for safety and profitability Responsible for managing ready mix truck drivers time and compliance SKILLS & ABILITIES High school diploma or equivalent Valid DL with clear driving record, CDL preferred 3+ years batch plant supervisory/management experience 3+ years experience driving ready mix trucks preferred Familiarity with electrical and hydraulics and conveyor systems Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Must be able to work independently or with a team; willingness to be flexible as needed Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires constant (70-100%) standing, lifting up to 50lbs, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, use hands to finger, hearing (listening) and observing (vision), hand/eye coordination and walking. Requires frequent (40-69%) climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching and occasional (0-39%) sitting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust and focus. This position is subject to onsite hazards including but not limited to moving industrial equipment, hazardous energies (LOTO), climbing ladders, working at heights, working on uneven or unimproved surfaces and areas of high noise levels, may operate hand and power tools (electric, gas & pneumatic) of all types. Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc. May be required to work in confined spaces. Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.). Candidate must be able to be medically qualified by a NON-DOT or other job specific physical.
