Overview

Responsible for maintaining a safe workspace at all times, must have the ability to perform job duties unsupervised, and perform troubleshooting on equipment and advanced electronics. This role may require performing lead duties and working on holidays or weekends.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose all engine controls, control systems, PLC’s, propulsion controls, and power generation equipment
  • Assembly, construction, wiring, and testing of control systems,
  • Make repair recommendations to customers; order appropriate parts to complete repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment according to established guidelines and schedules
  • Utilize measuring equipment including multimeters, ammeters and megohmmeters for diagnosis and repairs
  • Perform load testing via dry type load bank test equipment and perform building tests utilizing automatic transfer switch and related controls
  • Special testing as required
  • Other duties as assigned

    Safety
    • Develop relationships with coworkers to better understand the processes and culture that affect safety.
    • Influence safety by evaluating safety performance, participating in safety meetings, targeting areas needing improvement and developing initiatives to impact the areas.
    • Report safety observations, including near misses.
    • Thoroughly knowledgeable of Safe Work Policy.


    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or Associated Degree in Electrical / Electronics preferred but not required.
    • Electrical AC /DC theory. Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
    • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems required
    • Proficient with computers and Microsoft systems
    • Self-motivated and multi-task oriented with good organizational skills
    • Includes field service work, out of town travel, shop work, and overtime
