Job Description: Applications Administrator
Job Overview
The Application Administrator is responsible for configuring and supporting complex, highly configurable, cloud-based SaaS applications to achieve defined results for the organization and its users. This person will also build and maintain good working relationships with internal business customers and external vendors to understand the context in which applications are used and learn how to configure the applications/systems to solve business needs. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining and/or improving application usability and security.
Major Responsibilities
Provide primary leadership for CBC’s Salesforce application, including understanding of business needs, capabilities of the system, prioritizing enhancements to achieve business results, and ensuring that users understand and can utilize the system.
Serve as backup Application Administrator for CBC’s TowWorks logistics management system, with the same priorities as above.
Provide the following for Salesforce and TowWorks at Canal Barge Company:
Analyze, document, and test vendor and custom application development, logic, process flows, requirements, and specs
Document application installation and operating procedures
Manage vendor applications, plans, and relationships
Install, update, diagnose, and monitor internal and third-party applications
Train end users on application use and best practices
Understand the parts of the business using the application and the needs of the users, and translate the capabilities of the system for the users to help drive usage of the system for continuous improvement of the business.

Technical Skills:
Troubleshoot application problems and communicate impact clearly and concisely
Microsoft Office tool proficiency
Experience leading technology improvements
Manage and support development, implementation, and maintenance of system infrastructure, custom software, and vendor products
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years’ experience
Marine transportation and/or marine logistics software experience a plus
