PENDING CONTRACT AWARD Job Title: Maintenance Test Pilot, Rotary Wing (UH-60 A/A+/L) Location: Fort Polk, LA (1 st Bn, 5 th Avn Regt) TASK DESCRIPTION: Maintenance Test Pilot, Rotary Wing, GS-2181-12: Maintenance test pilots shall be proficient in flying operations of the rotary wing helicopters they are assigned. Maintenance test pilots shall possess a current, valid Agency or FAA Second Class Medical Certificate. Annual renewals of Medical Certificates shall be the responsibility of the individual. Maintenance test pilots shall possess an instrument rating on their FAA Commercial Certificates. Test Pilots shall demonstrate instrument task proficiency on the annual flight evaluation conducted by flight detachment Evaluators. Maintenance test pilots shall undergo and successfully complete initially and annually thereafter during their birth months, an Agency or FAA second class flight physical. Maintenance test pilots shall not perform flight duties when ill, after receiving medical treatment that may impair physical abilities required for flight or after receiving drugs from a civilian physician until properly cleared by an Agency Flight Surgeon or equivalent. Maintenance test pilots shall undergo an annual flight evaluation. These evaluations will be conducted by both an Instructor Pilot (IP) and Maintenance Test Flight Evaluator (MTFE), qualified in Mission, Type, and Design Series (MDS) and will ensure that all Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) tasks required for assigned flight duties are accomplished, i.e., non-tactical base tasks and maintenance test pilot (MTP) tasks are evaluated IAW the appropriate ATM.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Maintenance test pilots shall be proficient in flight operations of the UH-60A/A+/L. Maintenance test pilots shall possess a current valid ARMY or FAA Second Class Medical Certificate IAW DCMA INST 8210.1. Annual renewals of Medical Certificates shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
- Maintenance Test Pilot Prerequisites. The Contractor's maintenance test pilot shall meet the qualification requirements of DCMA INST 8210.1. Pilots shall have successfully completed US Army Aircraft Maintenance Officers Course (AMOC) and the Maintenance Test Pilot Course (MTPC) and shall have flown a minimum of 25 flight hours performing MTP duties.
- Maintenance Test Pilot Proficiency. The Contractor's Maintenance test pilot shall undergo an initial and annual flight evaluation by a U.S. Army Instructor Pilot (IP) conducted IAW AR 95-1, para 4-7 and all appropriate Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) tasks. Thereafter, an Army Maintenance Test Flight Evaluator (ME) will conduct an initial and annual maintenance flight evaluation. These evaluations must meet the requirements of DCMA INST 8210.1. MTP shall complete initial flight evaluation within 30 days and no more than 10 flight hours to achieve Pilot in Command and Maintenance Test Pilot status.
- The Contractor shall ensure the pilot meets all qualifications and currency requirements set forth in DCMA INST 8210.1, AR 95-1 and the UH-60A/A+/L Aircrew Training Manual.
Compensation $49.90/hour
Other Compensation Employees will receive a minimum health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour paid up to 40 hours per week.
