Job Description
ORBIS Corporation is hiring a Tooling Engineer/Molding in Georgetown, KY. This is a full-time position.
We are looking for someone to be responsible for supporting injection molding operations while managing mold-related projects and information. Approximately 25% of the role focuses on processing and optimizing injection molding tools and processes. The remaining 75% involves mold management activities, including tracking mold locations and status, coordinating mold modifications and repairs, overseeing mold transfers and moves, maintaining mold documentation, and communicating with external contractors and outsourced vendors. This position serves as a key liaison between production, tooling, and outside partners to ensure molds are properly maintained, modified, and available to support operational requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and improve manufacturing methods consistent with the principles of scientific mold and process control.
2. Manage plant, equipment, and process improvement projects, as assigned.
3. Manage the process to optimize press cycle time and consistency.
4. Assist in the development and manufacture of new tools to minimize 'time to market' while maximizing cost effectiveness.
5. Collaborate with operations, technical and hourly personnel to optimize processes.
6. Participate in the selection of processes and mold design considerations for new products.
7. Promote employee engagement activities to create and maintain a positive work environment.
8. Lead various scrap improvement activities.
9. Ideally someone will have experience working with a master mold maker and is ready to take the next step - this is a hands-on role.
