Estimator – Drive High-Impact Commercial & Industrial Bids for Meco LLC

The Opportunity:

You will play a pivotal role in driving company growth by analyzing complex industrial steel construction plans and generating highly competitive project bids. Working within our Sales & Client Relations team, you will shape high-profile commercial, industrial, and federal contracts while leveraging an exceptionally supportive, safety-first workplace. This position offers direct ownership over major estimating initiatives and a clear trajectory for long-term career growth.


How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Analyze blueprints, specs, and structural documentation to prepare precise material takeoff estimates.
  • Formulate comprehensive, high-converting cost proposals for commercial, industrial, and federal projects.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales & Client Relations team to build strong partner relationships.
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure total alignment with project scope and budget targets.
  • Identify cost-saving strategies and value-engineering opportunities to increase bid win rates.
  • Maintain rigorous safety and quality standards across all cost projections and technical plans.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in leadership, construction estimating, specifically focusing on structural steel.
  • Proven track record of preparing bids for commercial, industrial, or government projects.
  • Holds required industry-specific licenses necessary for structural estimating.
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting complex architectural drawings, structural engineering plans, and specifications.
  • Deep knowledge of structural steel materials, fabrication processes, and field erection logistics.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience estimating prevailing wage or complex federal government construction projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and digital takeoff tools.
  • Experience working in an active industrial facility
