Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for an Environmental Health & Safety (EH& S) Manager located in Shepherdsville, KY. This role will be performed onsite and not available to support remotely.

This position will lead the EH& S management system at a warehouse location in KY and work closely with another one in NJ to build and maintain safe workplaces for fellow associates and ensure protection of the environment. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal business customers and domain experts to ensure compliance with regulations and implementation of innovative EH& S techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create an outstanding EH& S culture at the Kentucky Distribution Center (KDC) in Shepherdsville, KY.
  • This role will collaborate closely with the Franklin Distribution Center (FDC) in Somerset, NJ, to align processes and procedures. This site will continue to be supported by part-time local EH& S staff.
  • Build value by driving greater efficiency and standardization in the deployment of EH& S resources, processes, procedures and programs.
  • Guide the progress of management action plans, providing technical support to ensure corporate, business segment, and site goals are achieved.
  • Continuously monitor all aspects of site performance and provide direction to site leaders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide EHS& S technical assistance and support.
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain records and reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Oversee metrics reporting for Deliver Innovative Medicine globally.
  • Represent EH& S for Deliver in the North Americas Deliver LT.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Engineering or related EH& S field preferred.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in a broad range of EH& S technical subject areas, with at least 2 years of operating EH& S programs at a warehouse, manufacturing, or R& D facility.
  • Experience identifying, evaluating and controlling safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental risks.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • Strong written and communication skills, including the ability to explain sophisticated issues and requirements in an easily understood manner.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the capability to influence key business partners.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to use EH& S Management systems to ensure regulatory compliance.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency using Microsoft software, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Experience using technology and innovative ideas to address problems.

Other:

  • 25% travel may be required; primarily domestic.
  • Relevant EH& S certifications preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, REM, CMSE, etc.), but not required.
