We are seeking a Regional Buyer located at our Lexington, Kentucky Dixie Plant for our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement organization within Georgia-Pacific. As a part of our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement organization, the Regional Buyer reports to the Regional Purchasing Manager. He or she will lead local procurement and support storeroom operations. The individual must be self-directed, work with a high sense of urgency and possess the ability to solve problems and collaborate with other disciplines to meet the needs of the operation. They will also be asked to participate and lead sourcing teams, special projects, and contract negotiations.
What You Will Do- Support the strategic vision for purchasing and storerooms for related facilitates
- Liaise with business and operational personnel at your sites; understand and support their priorities; connecting them to relevant corporate resources
- Work with internal customers to identify and address unmet needs that align with procurement and business unit goals to deliver long term value
- Ensure that your sites are receiving the appropriate level of support from corporate capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams at the facility and headquarters to implement business initiatives
- Identify opportunities to transform procurement job functions through utilization of tools and technologies to become best in class (support similar efforts in the storeroom)
- Implement processes to improve purchasing efficiencies and automation
- Ensure internal financial controls at the facility are met by partnering with Operations and accounting functions at your sites
- Execute and support the procure-to-pay process for MRO, equipment, services, raw materials, and supplies from external suppliers
- Support the execution of storeroom functions (receiving, put away, delivery, cycle counting)
- Optimize working capital and on-hand inventory levels
- Manage appropriate use of national, regional, and local contract agreements
- Identify and analyze opportunities to competitively bid non-strategic spend to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership
- Ensure compliance with all safety, purchasing, fiduciary, stores and environmental policies and procedures
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)§ Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing or manufacturing operations, or high school diploma and 5+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing or manufacturing operations
§ Experience in analyzing data and developing and implementing solutions
§ Microsoft Excel skills to include pivot tables and data visualization tools
§ Experience working with suppliers
§ Willing and able to travel (should range between 20% and 50%)
What Will Put You Ahead- Bachelor's Degree or higher in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
- Experience in the manufacturing industry
- Experience working in MP2, Ariba and TEAMS
