Description:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide support to assigned region by being the major point of contact for transactional and other legal questions. Review and research questions for appropriate response. Determine whether questions are within authority level to be answered or need to be referred to the attorney.
· Prepare and interpret various legal documents for review, approval and use by attorney such as supporting memoranda, request for production of documents, interrogatories, real estate closing documents and other commonly used legal documents.
· Review and comply with court subpoena request.
· Review civil summons and determine needed action.
· Review loan accounts that are in default and work with market to determine needed action.
· Prepare documentation packages for outside attorney use in legal actions.
· Interact with outside attorneys regard court actions
· Track and document status of court actions in collection management system and upload court pleadings to electronic filing system
· Conduct routine legal research then analysis and write summaries of findings
· Prepare and maintain reports associated with court actions, bankruptcy matters, fees and past due accounts.
· Attend monthly, quarterly and miscellaneous meetings such as Past Due Loan Review, Delinquent Loan Review, and Problem Loan Review Committee.
· Ensure all actions performed are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
· Perform other duties within the department as assigned
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE
· Position requires high school diploma and a standard paralegal certificate
· Two years of banking experience or legal experience
· Knowledge of credit and deposit account product documentation and federal laws and regulation pertaining to banks
· Excellent PC skills with knowledge of Word and Excel
· Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
· Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
· Excellent research skills and ability to problem solve with minimum guidance
· Ability to handle multiple assignments with competing priorities in a fast pace and rapidly evolving environment.
· Professional attitude with ability to work independently exercising judgment and adhering to policy guidelines
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Normal office conditions
· Works under minimum supervision
· Some travel required
