Description:

SUMMARY: Close residential mortgage applications originated by the company’s loan officer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Close FHLMC and in house loans and submit loans through the loan prospector system.

· Assist Residential Lending Manager in developing closing standards.

· Reviews loan packages to ensure conformity with appropriate guidelines required for various loan products prior to closing.

· Notify loan officer of loan status and request any additional documentation that may be needed to complete the file.

· Review mortgage insurance and title work for errors.

· Prepare closing documents and complete a check disbursement sheet.

· Consult with mortgage underwriters to ensure that all closing conditions are met prior to closing the loan.

· Train and support mortgage loan closers on loan closings, regulations, and company guidelines regarding mortgage loans.

· Develop training materials.

· Special project assignments.

· Keep informed of current practices in loan closing.

· Ensure all actions performed are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE

· Position normally requires about one year of education beyond high school consisting of specialized courses in such subjects as accounting, business administration or banking as represented by a standard AIB certificate.

· Two years to four years of processing experience.

· Minimum of two years closing experience.

· Excellent PC skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and other applicable software.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Knowledge of debt to income ratio; credit repair; property appraisal, and compensating factors.

· Knowledge of governmental regulations and rules.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Normal office conditions

· Some travel required
