Description:

SUMMARY: Supervises assigned personnel while providing administrative and operational support for the Exception Item Processing Department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor daily production functions to ensure that all tasks within the Exception Item Processing department are completed in a timely manner.
  • Perform personnel performance reviews, set goals, recommend new hires, terminations, and salary increases.
  • Resolve more complex problems, which cannot be handled by staff.
  • Monitor daily nonpost, stop payment, and overdraft processes to ensure that issues are resolved.
  • Handle ACH Origination overages and provide assistance with everyday issues directly with Companies in a professional manner.
  • Monitor the ACH processes and handle Reg E disputed items.
  • Monitor and manage reports dealing with Reg O.
  • Review, summarize, and distribute management reports.
  • Monitor for fraudulent/suspicious activity and handle forgeries.
  • Manage special projects such as new products, software updates, compliance/regulator changes, and remediation projects while maintaining record of change management for all procedural or software changes and maintain record of testing.
  • Train new employees.
  • Ensures all actions performed are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE

  • Position normally requires a high school diploma or GED plus such practical knowledge and skills as would be learned on the job.
  • Minimum five years of experience in Banking and/or Exception Item Processing applications.

· Excellent communication and interactive skills with staff and others; internal and external.

· Knowledge of workflow throughout the bank and how it impacts functions supervised and other departments' functions.

· Knowledge of bank products.

· Knowledge of core system and related ancillary systems.

· Staff development skills (providing training and education).

· Ability to delegate effectively.

· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.

· Refers questionable matters to management.

· Valid driver’s license.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Works in a production oriented atmosphere.

· Some travel may be required for training and bank mergers.
