Your Job Koch Agronomic Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of buyers, overseeing procurement operations, developing and maintaining strategic sourcing strategies, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of goods . The Procurement Manager will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and supporting the overall business objectives . The ideal candidate will be an approachable leader, a skilled negotiator, and a strategic thinker committed to driving continuous improvement and fostering a collaborative culture.
Our Team KAS Procurement team supports the business by procuring, staging and managing inventory positions of all raw materials, product packaging, and equipment. This role will be in the Wichita, Kansas headquarters and is a key strategic leader in the organization.
What You Will Do Supervisor Role: - Be an approachable and available leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, providing timely support, feedback, and resources.
- Serve as a coach and cultural mentor for direct reports and others within KAS.
- Facilitate communication between team capabilities and the broader KAS organization.
Procurement Manager Role: - Manage the procurement, staging and inventory positions of all raw materials, product packaging, and equipment at optimal quality and price.
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for raw material accounts, particularly internationally sourced materials, and provide guidance to direct reports on supplier relationship management.
- Utilize your strong negotiation skills to secure favorable supply agreements for KAS.
- Liaise efficiently between tollers, suppliers, and KAS research and development teams.
- Communicate potential and real-time issues to management promptly.
- Solicit regular feedback from manufacturing partners regarding the usability and quality of the raw material portfolio.
- Manage the raw material EU REACH registration process.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - 5+ years of experience in a procurement role, including strong knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and contract management.
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to travel 10-15% of the time, including international travel.
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
What Will Put You Ahead - Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
- Previous supervisory experience
