This groundbreaking green-field factory will serve as a pioneering hub for innovation in sustainable energy solutions. We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

The Skilled Machine Technician - Level 3 (SMT-3) independently operates automated high-speed lithium-ion battery production machines within clean-room environment. This includes machine maintenance, equipment cleanliness assurance, troubleshooting, and the execution of routine maintenance tasks. Additionally, as an SMT-3, responsibilities entail training colleagues to support high production standards and compliance with safety protocols.

Shift: Day and Night 12-Hour Shifts

This job requires an 8-week training program in Sparks, NV.

Essential Duties:
  • Initiate, operate, recover, and shut down machines
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine errors following specified escalation procedures.
  • Utilize hand tools and precision measuring instruments to perform basic maintenance and uphold quality control standards.
  • Execute advanced proactive and reactive maintenance activities such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), thorough cleaning, tensioning, pressure adjustments, and equipment modifications.
  • Monitor operational processes, visual inspections, and quality assessments
  • Maintain a clean and secure work area following the 6S principles (Sort, Shine, Set in Order, Standardize, Sustain, Safety).
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with and implementing work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and expertise through direct peer-to-peer training.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands and the PPE requirements of the role
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support proper implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment within functional area
  • Ability to work all scheduled shift hours


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is mandatory including equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Pre-employment respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Education
  • Required: High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or 2 years of prior experience in functional area


Essential Qualifications
  • 3 years of prior experience in the functional area
  • Proficient in the English language, encompassing adeptness in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sub-assemblies, drive units, and equipment rebuilds.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 4 + years of experience
  • Competition of PECNA maintenance apprentice program
  • Successful completion of Standard Work and Job Instruction training. A solid understanding of Kaizen and active participation in Standard Work Improvement activities
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite and experience in computer operations, with knowledge of navigating department-specific system programs.
