Overview

We are seeking a full-time Project Management Engineering Assistant in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing duties in support of the engineering team including related tasks, training, development, and culture activities.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate with project management to assist with daily job functions
  • Run requested reports documenting overall project development status
  • Support and/or release engineering IR/ECO as required including creating, processing, and tracking ECOs related to project management responsibilities and creating new BOMs and difference reports
  • Rework software on units in development including cartography content
  • Coordinate shipping requests and unit distribution including unit tracking
  • Participate in design reviews/facilitate engineering meetings as required, document new processes, understand Engineering processes/manage updates, and coordinate PCN process
  • Identify opportunities for and maintain automation tools
  • Support product development lifecycle as required from initial phase through maintenance phase
  • Collaborate with Engineering customers to gather requirements/implement updates to current processes
  • Contribute to development of Engineering training catalog, function as system admin for Garmin Training Center, collaborate with subject matter experts/leaders to develop content, and utilize feedback from associates to further refine training content/format
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree AND a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • Must demonstrate the ability to log data in a clear, presentable manner relevant to Garmin's business needs
  • Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Must possess experience and demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Windows
Desired Qualifications
  • Comfortable running applications from a command line
  • Basic understanding of Garmin's product development process
