We are seeking a full-time Advanced Passive Components Lead at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will lead efforts to understand supplier capabilities and market conditions, foster strategic supplier partnerships, secure competitive commercial outcomes, and ensure uninterrupted supply to enable exceptional Garmin products.

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Passive Components Lead at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will lead efforts to understand supplier capabilities and market conditions, foster strategic supplier partnerships, secure competitive commercial outcomes, and ensure uninterrupted supply to enable exceptional Garmin products.
Essential Functions
- Manage relationships through supplier engagement and assessment as well as segment communication, coordination, alignment and knowledge management
- Drive passive and electro-mechanical selection, testing, troubleshooting and cost reduction strategy
- Coordinate with supplier quality and technology pool resources (Elecrical, Mechanical and Software Engineering)
- Serve as executive interface for the passives and electro-mechanical parts including strategy, tracking and reporting
- Drive technology through researching, testing and validating new suppliers/components to ensure evolutionary improvements in current technologies and ensuring Garmin has and is first to market with revolutionary new and exciting technologies
- Push suppliers to develop solutions that solve technical challenges
- Ensure product relevancy by developing and maintaining inside knowledge of product requirements and selecting the best technology for each product type
- International travel required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or another related degree AND a minimum of 7 years of related work experience with electronics similar to this job description
- Demonstrated success in working business deals and negotiations
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must possess the ability to lead and sell strategies across Garmin business segments
- Demonstrated knowledge of Garmin's overall product line and customers
