Description:

Manager -Project Engineering

This position is accountable for, but not limited to,

• Supervising and managing engineers participating in the engineering of custom low voltage and medium voltage switch gear, LV motor control center, and switchboard orders.

• Leading in a team environment of application engineers, electrical designers and mechanical designers.

• Provide design estimates, assign and schedule tasks to accomplish the day to day operations of the order engineering department.

• Track employee & project performance.

• Perform periodic performance reviews of employees as well as generate development plans for the team.

• Handle annual appraisals of employees.

• Involve in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding time-to-time.

Skill set
  • Proven skill sets in Design of switchboard /Panel/Busways with focus on electrical aspects of the panel
  • Knowledge on LV and MV switch gear products like PCC, MCC, switchboards, etc
  • Proven skill sets in creating SLD, GA, schematic, etc
  • Software knowledge on CAD packages like Autocad, Inventor or Pro-E
  • Knowledge on electrical standards IEC, ANSI, UL, NEMA, IEEE, etc
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to work across cultures
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Expertise in MS Excel, PPT and Word.
  • Supervisory skills with ability to manage multiple teams with time management
The responsibility will drive you to conduct activities, which you are accountable for, while holding the role
  • Understanding detailed requirements and expectations of your customer.
  • Handling the orders off loaded to global technology alliance (GTA) Bangalore team from North American manufacturing plants.
  • Prepare the capacity planning and availability for utilization of the resources.
  • Track orders to make sure that quality, on time delivery and productivity to the expected level.
  • Responsible for coordinating with internal and external stake holders.
  • Update the weekly report of the activities of order engineering team to NA plant managers.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports for team to share with management.
  • Responsible for people's competency management and career development.
Qualifications

Qualification & Experience

BE or B Tech / ME or M Tech in Electrical engg, E& E, or Power system Engg with 7 to 12 Years experience with min 3 yrs managerial experience in engineering /electrical industry.
