Description:

The role drives supplier performance, enforces quality systems, supports new product development, and safeguards the plant from supplier-related risks.
  • Supplier Performance Management
    • Develop and monitor dashboards for supplier performance (PPM, COPQ, deviation trends).
    • Lead monthly supplier performance reviews and drive improvement action plans.
    • Ensure suppliers of cooling-related components meet quality standards and contractual requirements.
  • Audits & Compliance
    • Conduct quality system audits and process audits at supplier sites (ISO 9001, environmental & safety compliance, process capability).
    • Verify compliance to Schneider Electric requirements such as PPEP (Production Part Evaluation Process).
    • Ensure cooling-plant-specific processes (brazing, welding, leak testing, refrigeration charging component quality) meet standards
  • New Supplier Qualification & Component Approval
    • Collaborate with engineering and procurement to assess and qualify new suppliers for cooling-system components.
    • Review supplier capabilities (material selection, component manufacturing capability, cleanliness standards, machining tolerances).
    • Oversee validation activities including sample inspection, capability studies, and documentation.
  • Quality Issue Resolution
    • Lead problem-solving for supplier-caused defects impacting cooling system production (e.g., component leakage, compressor failure, fan motor defects, electronic controller malfunctions).
    • Manage root cause analysis, 8D, and corrective & preventive action closure.
    • Ensure rapid containment to avoid line stoppages in the cooling plant.
  • Control Plan Development & Product Reliability
    • Support FMEA-based control plans with suppliers.
    • Validation of critical cooling components (coils, compressors, Copper tubing, sheet metal, fans, pumps).
    • Ensure reliability targets (Cooling capacity, performance, leak-free operation, durability) are integrated into supplier processes.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Drive supplier improvement programs involving waste reduction, improved process capability, sustainability goals, and cost optimization.
    • Promote 8QB deployment, CI/Red X, Lean, Six Sigma methods at supplier sites to enhance quality performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, and CS& Q teams for supplier alignment.
    • Provide quality insights during new product development for cooling systems (NPI/NPD).
    • Support risk assessment and mitigation during design changes, engineering deviations, and process transitions.


    Skill Requirements:
    • Strong understanding of cooling-system components (compressors, heat exchangers, refrigerants, fans, motors, electronics).
    • Expertise in quality tools: FMEA, ISO standards, SPC, MSA, 8D, PPAP/PPEP, Lean/Six Sigma.
    • Experience in manufacturing or supplier quality in HVAC, refrigeration, or cooling-equipment industries.
    • Experience in engaging with Global suppliers & driving quality performance improvement
