Job Description

Schneider Electric is hiring a Senior Engineer I, Software Tools and Methods in Bangalore, KA. This is a full-time position.

As a Senior Engineer I, Software Tools & Methods, with strong expertise in GitHub Actions, Azure, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux administration you will enable efficient, secure, and high-quality software delivery by driving CI/CD, automation, and engineering toolchain excellence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize development workflows, implement best-in-class tools and methodologies, and continuously improve the software development lifecycle.

As a technical expert, you will design and maintain development platforms, automate processes, troubleshoot tooling challenges, and mentor team members. Your contributions will enhance developer productivity, strengthen software quality, and accelerate delivery across projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, develop, and maintain the software development environment to enable efficient, secure, and reliable delivery of software systems and solutions.
  • Maintain embedded Linux build infrastructure, Manage continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automate processes using GitHub Actions.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes.
  • Manage Azure and on-premises infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Deploy and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Support cross-architecture builds and multi-board deployments
  • Develop and test firmware OTA update mechanisms
  • Integrate security, compliance, and code quality tools into CI/CD workflows.
  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, and InfluxDB.
  • Manage artifacts using JFrog Artifactory.
  • Support VMware vSphere environments.
  • Optimize build times and reduce firmware image sizes, Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to improve delivery and reliability.
  • Participate in Agile development, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Document build procedures, toolchain setup, and deployment processes

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, ECE, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Proven experience building and deploying embedded Linux systems
  • Experience with real-time systems / RTOS is highly valued
  • Experience in IoT, automotive, or industrial embedded sectors preferred
  • Certifications (Red Hat, Linux Foundation, AWS, Azure) a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in Embedded, Firmware, or IoT domains is an advantage.
