Schneider Electric is hiring a Senior Engineer I, Software Test in Bangalore, KA. This is a full-time position.

The Microgrid Line of Business is providing the software, the architectures and the necessary system components to allow Commercial and Industrial customers to design, build, operate and maintain their distributed energy resources in grid or off grid connected mode, enabling them to reach their
energy sustainability, Net-zero and resilience objectives in a profitable manner.

About the role

This role has the primary responsibility to drive growth of MicroGrid business through delivery of innovative Edge algorithms. The incumbent will be accountable to deliver algorithms and to enrich
the existing programs embedded within PLC or other Edge hardware as well as to test and validate the hardware through simulation means.
This role will report to the Microgrid R& D Manager. This role will work in collaboration with a team of architects, marketing, internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • Develop algorithms for Edge hardware based on the backlogs managed by the technical product owner.
  • Ensure that the algorithms are consistent with the cloud software and the physical devices.
  • Ensure that all the use cases of the system are factored into consideration while creating the algorithms.
  • Develop/Update new libraries of components as and when there are new devices or new functionalities are added to the system.
  • Ensure the functional verification test are performed with simulation means.
  • Ensure the algorithms are compatible with existing and new planned platforms like Automation Expert.
  • Ensure delivery of associated documentation and training materials.


Profile / Qualification
  • Bachelors / Masters in relevant stream
  • 4Y+ Experience in Energy Automation & electrical distribution.
  • Passionate about Sustainability, Energy Efficiency and new Energy landscape topics.
  • Expertise in Industrial automation software, PLC programming & SCADA - Knowledge of Schneider PLCs and tools is preferred.
  • Expertise in Industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/IP
  • Programming in Structured text and / or Ladder logic in compliance with IEC61131.
  • Programming in IEC61499 / Automation Expert - (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Electrical systems and Power Management Systems (Controls, Power inverters, BESS, PV inverters, Gensets, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software development tools - GitHub, Azure DevOps
  • Experience of working in Agile-Scrum environment.
