About the Role
Design for Safety and Reliability Practitioner ensures that our Breaker products meet the highest standards of functional safety, reliability, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DfSR methodologies, functional safety standards and hands-on experience with Breaker & Motor Management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Apply Design for Safety and Reliability (DfSR) principles during product development to meet safety integrity and reliability targets.
  • Conduct Functional Safety Analysis (FMEA, FMEDA, Fault Tree Analysis) and ensure compliance with IEC and ISO standards.
  • Define and validate Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS) for motor management systems and solid-state devices.
  • Collaborate with design teams to implement safety architectures and diagnostic coverage strategies.
  • Perform reliability modeling and prediction using tools like ReliaSoft, Weibull++, or equivalent.
  • Develop and execute safety validation and reliability test plans (HALT, HASS, burn-in, thermal, surge, vibration, etc.).
  • Support certification processes with third-party agencies (e.g., TÜV, UL).
  • Drive root cause analysis for safety or reliability-related failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation for safety case development and compliance audits.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • Functional Safety Certification (e.g., TÜV FS Engineer) and Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety and reliability engineering, preferably in motor control or industrial automation.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61508, ISO 13849, IEC 60204, and related safety standards.
