Schneider Electric is hiring a Mechanical Engineer-Systems Design in Bangalore, KA. This is a full-time position.

Join our technical design team as a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer. You'll work on customer-facing projects that demand deep mechanical expertise, from HVAC systems to structural engineering and integrated equipment solutions across a wide range of industries.
  • Role Overview

    The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and analyzing structural systems for buildings, infrastructure, or industrial projects. The role involves producing detailed calculations, drawings, and design specifications while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. The engineer will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and construction teams.
  • Preferred candidate profile
    • Substation Design (AIS/GIS, SLDs, GA, protection & control systems)
    • Kiosk Design (electrical kiosks, LT/HT kiosk layouts, panel integration)
    • EHouse Solutions (modular electrical houses, integrated power/control rooms, equipment layout & sizing)
    • Prefabricated Container Design (modular containerized substations, HVAC/safety systems integration)
    • Equipment sizing and specification (transformers, switchgear, breakers, isolators, CT/PT, surge arresters)
    • Grounding/earthing system design and calculations
    • Protection & control scheme design, schematic & wiring diagrams
    • AC/DC auxiliary systems design
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP/CYME or similar tools
    • Knowledge of IEC/IEEE/IS standards
    • Vendor document review and coordination with cross functional engineering teams


    Role & responsibilities
    • Lead mechanical design projects from conceptualization to delivery, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering problems.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on mechanical design principles, best practices, and project management techniques.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
    • Ensure timely completion of projects by managing multiple priorities, resources, and stakeholders
