Job Description
Schneider Electric is hiring a Engineer II, Segment Solutions in Bangalore, KA. This is a full-time position.
Role Overview:
As part of the newly launched Water & Environment Digital Lab initiative, this role will be embedded within the CPG Digital Lab in Bangalore. The Water Segment Lab Engineer will contribute to the development of industrial water solutions, support demo creation for new solutions and collaborate across global teams to drive digital transformation in water-intensive industries and water utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Solution Development & Prototyping:
• Help drive the solutions roadmap for the Water & Environment Segment through design and implementation of demo applications showcasing integrated water and environment solutions for water utilities, waste management businesses and industrial customers with water applications, such as food & beverage.
• Support the creation of co-innovation prototypes solutions for sales events and project opportunities
• Bring innovation and differentiation, through identification and creation of unique and value-adding components to EcoStruxure based solutions.
• Develop and maintain scalable cloud environments to support real-time and historical data ingestion, processing, and visualization for water-related use cases
• Collaboration & Integration:
• Work closely with the CPG lab team to align water segment initiatives with broader segment goals.
• Coordinate with global stakeholders including marketing, solution architects, and segment leaders to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
• Work closely with the Water segment innovation leader to test concepts and new solutions for the water & environment market General •
• Promote and document existing solutions to a community of local architects and consultants, enabling them to leverage this knowledge to meet local customer demands. •
• Write specifications, success stories, and create content/knowledge that can be transferred to others. •
• Work closely together with the SE Ecosystem of partners, system integrators, and OEMs to drive end-user success.
• Technical Enablement:
• Contribute to the development of sales toolkits and enablement materials for water-related offers.
• Look to leverage key enabling technologies such as EAE and CONNECT, incorporating existing and helping to co-create new Water Advisors software accelerators
• Support integration of IoT devices, telemetry systems, and geospatial data into cloud-based platforms for enhanced situational awareness
• Innovation & Research:
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in water treatment, digital twins, and sustainability.
• Provide insights into customer needs and market trends to inform lab priorities.
This role requires a proactive approach to understanding customer needs and delivering comprehensive support to drive innovation and efficiency within the Water & Environment Sector
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in water process engineering, preferably in industrial or municipal sectors.
• Experience of technical engineering and/or consultancy related to automation or software
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.
• Great level of spoken and read English to collaborate with our teams and customers
Plus Either:
• Process design for biological, chemical, and physical treatment systems
• Experience in the Design and simulation of treatment processes for potable and recycled water systems
• Experience with optimization of treatment operations and energy/resource use General
OR
• Experience in implementing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure to support high-performance data workloads and enterprise applications
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable real-time and batch data analytics, machine learning workflows, and business intelligence solutions
Preferred Attributes:
• Experience in demo development or technical pre-sales.
• Exposure to sustainability frameworks and water stewardship principles.
• Ability to work autonomously while aligning with global strategic objectives.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective solution designs.
• Experience with cloud computing and engineering (especially Azure)
