Your role: As the International EcoDesign Expert, you will lead the integration and deployment of the company's new Future Designed framework across the engineering squads in International (INT) region. Your role focuses on embedding sustainability into product development processes, ensuring teams have the knowledge and capabilities to advance decarbonization and circularity goals.
You will act as the central EcoDesign Innovation expert for the LOBs-supporting engineering squads in identifying more sustainable design alternatives, shaping innovation roadmaps, and guaranteeing the speed, quality, and consistency of Eco-Design initiatives.
Ultimately, your mission contributes to enabling businesses and communities to use energy more intelligently and sustainably, driving innovation aligned with the evolving needs of a more connected and environmentally conscious world.
Key responsibilities: Future Designed Deployment & Squad Support- Lead the end-to-end deployment of the Future Designed program across all in-scope engineering squads in International Hub, ensuring every team receives consistent, high-quality support.
- Act as the primary reference point for squads, guiding them through the full Eco-Design journey-from initial assessment to implementation of identified solutions.
Expert Guidance & Customized Sustainability Analysis- Provide hands-on expert support in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and advanced sustainability analysis.
- Identify and recommend sustainable material alternatives, improved recyclability options, and strategies to reduce CO₂ emissions in product designs, including digital offers.
- Deliver tailored, actionable recommendations to each squad and ensure these solutions are implemented effectively from start to finish.
Leadership, Coordination & Stakeholder Alignment- Position yourself as the central coordinator bridging engineering teams, marketers, CTOs, scrum masters, Product Owners (POs), and Eco-Design champions.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment and smooth coordination across squads, leagues, and Lines of Business (LOBs), adapting your support to each level's needs.
Deployment Tracking & Action Consolidation- Consolidate all Eco-Design actions across LOBs and hubs, ensuring clear prioritization and visibility.
- Use JIRA to build and maintain customized backlogs, ensuring accurate tracking of progress, actions, and dependencies.
- Maintain a comprehensive overview of deployment status for each LOB and provide clear guidance on next steps.
Reporting, Insights & Performance Monitoring- Oversee the completion and analysis of central reporting tools to monitor the progress and impact of the Future Designed program.
- Deliver regular progress updates to stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations to accelerate adoption and improve sustainability performance.
Assessment of Needs & Continuous Improvement- Collect and assess the evolving needs of International LOBs regarding training, tools, capabilities, and analytical support.
- Communicate these needs to the Future Designed Product Owner (PO) to ensure continuous evolution of the program and resources.
Training, Enablement & Community Development- Ensure all EcoDesign local experts, engineers, and champions from the LOBs receive regular training and updates on the latest methodologies, tools, and recommendations.
- Empower them to deliver squad-specific EcoDesign guidance and act as multipliers within their respective organizations.
Qualifications: - 10+ years of experience in product architecture, product design, and end-to-end product development processes, with a strong ability to navigate technical constraints, design trade-offs, and system-level decision-making.
- Deep knowledge of Digital Offers (electronics, firmware, software and digital architectures)
- Proven experience in EcoDesign or sustainability roles, ideally within a corporate or industrial environment, applying sustainable design principles to real product portfolios.
- Competence in commodity management, material engineering, and Design-to-Cost principles will be considered an added advantage.
- Experience conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and converting analytical insights into actionable design recommendations.
- Working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) phases, end-to-end design workflows, and material selection methodologies is required.
- Strong project management skills, including hands-on experience using JIRA or similar tools to coordinate multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities, with the ability to synthesize technical data and present insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and training across cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, product management, etc.).
- Solid understanding of Eco-Design standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability frameworks, particularly those relevant to digital and electronic products.
