Position Overview: The Senior Specialist, Talent Development, will play a key role in designing and delivering learning solutions that drive growth and development for both salaried and hourly team members. This position creates content for eLearning, in-person, and virtual training, ensuring the alignment of training programs with business objectives. The Senior Specialist will develop learning materials, including presentations, facilitator and participant guides, and other supporting resources, while leveraging the latest instructional design techniques and adult learning principles.
Additionally, the Senior Specialist will assign learning programs through the Learning Management System (LMS), build catalogs, and assign learning paths. This role requires experience in instructional design, graphic design, and project management, with a focus on creating impactful and engaging learning.
Duties/Responsibilities: Content Development: - Designs and develops eLearning, in-person, and virtual training content, using adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Creates training materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids, and other resources to reinforce learning objectives.
- Converts existing content into interactive and effective learning experiences, tailored to a variety of learners (salaried and hourly).
- Ensures learning content is aligned with organizational goals and addresses the needs of diverse learners.
- Develop and implement instructional design strategies to create interactive, engaging, and learner-centered content.
- Writes clear and measurable learning objectives and design evaluations to assess learner comprehension and the effectiveness of training.
- Applies graphic design skills to create visually appealing learning materials and multimedia elements (videos, graphics, interactive elements).
- Uses content development software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms to build interactive eLearning modules.
LMS Administration: - Manages learning catalogs and events in the LMS, ensuring accurate course creation, scheduling, and learner assignments.
- Assigns learning programs and paths to employees, monitors progress, and tracks completion of assigned training.
- Generates reports and tracks metrics to measure the success of training initiatives and recommends improvements as needed.
Project Management: - Leads and manages training and development projects from concept to execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Maintains detailed project plans, timelines, and status updates to ensure all training projects are completed on time and within budget.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement: - Develops and implements learning evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
- Gathers feedback from learners and stakeholders, analyzes results, and identifies areas for improvement.
- Stays current on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in learning and development to continuously enhance the quality of training programs.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in instructional design and learning and development.
- Experience in designing and delivering eLearning, in-person, and virtual training content.
- Application of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), and learning evaluation techniques (e.g., Kirkpatrick, Brinkerhoff Models).
- Demonstrated ability to write clear and actionable learning objectives and content.
- Proficiency with content development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience administering and managing content in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Able to manage multiple projects, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience with storyboarding and course design processes.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
