About This Job You deliver exceptional, patient-centered care as a Registered Nurse specializing in infusion services. You serve as a vital lifeline for patients undergoing complex treatments, ensuring their comfort, safety, and emotional well-being throughout every step of the healing process. You collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to administer specialized therapies, monitor patient responses, and maintain a compassionate, healing environment. Job Duties and Responsibilities Administers safe and accurate infusion therapy, chemotherapy, and biologic treatments according to established clinical protocols and physician orders.Performs precise IV insertion, venipuncture, and central line management to ensure reliable vascular access for every patient.Monitors patients continuously for adverse reactions, side effects, and clinical changes, taking immediate action when critical decisions arise.Applies extensive knowledge of pharmacology to verify medication dosages, compatibility, and safety measures prior to administration.Educates patients and their families on treatment procedures, side effects, and self-care strategies to empower them throughout their healthcare journey.Maintains accurate and timely electronic health records, documenting all patient assessments, treatments, and clinical responses. Required Qualifications Education Earns an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.Holds an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Experience Accumulates a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, with a strong focus on outpatient or acute care settings.Demonstrates hands-on expertise in vascular access and specialty medication administration. Knowledge/Skills Executes advanced proficiency in infusion therapy, IV insertion, and venipuncture.Manages complex central line management procedures with strict adherence to infection control standards.Delivers specialized care through safe chemotherapy administration and biologic therapy protocols.Evaluates patient status through rigorous patient monitoring and clinical assessment techniques.Applies sound clinical judgment based on a deep understanding of pharmacology.Maintains current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications. Preferred Qualifications Holds national certification in infusion nursing or oncology nursing.Brings prior experience working in an ambulatory infusion center or outpatient oncology clinic. Physical Requirements/Work Conditions Stands and walks for extended periods during patient care shifts.Lifts and transports medical equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling hazardous medications.Navigates a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining calm, focused attention to detail.
